Challenges
Municipal Parking Services, Inc. (MPS) encountered access control and visitor management challenges during a suite relocation at Four Points Centre, Austin, Texas. MPS inherited pre-existing legacy access control hardware that did not align with their access control need for flexible mobile access that can be scaled. At the same time MPS also wanted a visitor management platform that enabled them to issue time-limited digital visitor passes for mobile access and provide a digital check-in facility to free up front desk operational resources and create a more efficient visitor process. As MPS operates as a hybrid workplace they also wanted to enable their front desk teams to not permanently need to remain on the front desk and provide the option for them to work remotely on the days when less staff attend the office.
Solution
To address these challenges, MPS came to Sentry Interactive as they didn’t want to replace perfectly functional readers just to be able to get mobile access. The cost associated with ‘rip and replace’, purchasing new hardware, getting it installed, paying for Apple and Android wallet integration costs and license fees made zero sense. Particularly when the same result could be accomplished with Sentry Mobile Access in a fraction of the time and cost without needing an NFC wallet-based credential solution provider. Additionally, MPS have been able to enhance building security and convenience for employees through user friendly mobile access.

Sentry Interactive have also helped to address MPS’ need for a cost-effective and efficient digital check-in process and have created a way to continue to provide first class front desk support with the Sentry Interactive Tower. It allows visitors to check-in digitally and receive further support from a digital receptionist. Digital face-to-face front desk support can be rolled out for when receptionists are not present at the front desk or are working remotely when the rest of the office is working offsite or from home.
