Why choose readerless credentials?
We are the only readerless mobile credential solution that uses iOS and Android NFC technology to unlock doors outside of smartphone Wallet apps. Wondering why?
1. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
No ‘rip and replace’ access control reader hardware upgrade costs:
Sentry’s mobile credentials are readerless and uses the user’s smartphone as the active NFC mobile reader, there’s no need to upgrade your existing readers. Save money associated with new reader hardware upgrades and labor costs.
No contractual annual Wallet App license fees:
Wallet app credential licenses run off a cost per user per year model in addition to the integration and maintenance costs. With Sentry’s readerless credentials, only one integration is required to provide cross platform NFC mobile access for iOS and Android users.
No Access Control System Integration Costs:
With Sentry’s readerless mobile credentials you don’t face any cost to integrate our software with your existing access control system, so there’s no custom integration cost. If your system(s) are on our list of integrations, we can add our retrofit mobile access software to it in minutes.
2. Security
The only NIST compliant access control solution
We are the only NIST compliant access control solution that adopts elliptical curves to store and secure your data. Our encryption architecture is years ahead and even quantum computing can’t crack it. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards we adopt comply with what the US military, NSA and White House use as a benchmark.
The only solution where the smartphone is the biometric 2FA NFC enabled reader
We use NFC technology that is built into iOS and Android smartphones and leverage the power of biometric and multi-factor smartphone security. We’ve created the first active NFC enabled reader, which is actually the user’s smartphone.
Geofencing, time and IP access restrictions
Restrict user access permissions based on IP address, time and geofencing. Prevent unauthorized out of hours access. Geofencing restrictions can be set for remote access, preventing unlocks from certain radius’. IP restriction allows you to control access depending on the network used e.g. you can set access to only be available on a particular wifi network.

3. User Experience
Cross platform compatibility for iOS and Android users
Our open source SDK software allows you to integrate our NFC access control solution into tenant experience apps. Tenants can use their existing building app to open doors with their smartphone’s NFC technology. There is no extra cost to integrate Sentry’s readerless mobile credentials with your platform.
One virtual key to access a portfolio of access control systems
Sentry’s readerless mobile access credential software can unify a combination of disparate access control systems under one platform. One virtual key can be used to access a portfolio of buildings and doors, even if they have different access control systems installed.
Ability to use virtual keys within third-party tenant experience apps
Our readerless credential software can unify a combination of disparate access control systems under one platform. One virtual key can be used to access a portfolio of buildings and doors, even if they have different access control systems installed.
4. Visitor Virtual Keys
Share time-limited virtual keys with visitors
Admins can share time sensitive virtual keys with visitors, contractors, or out of hours staff. After the time is up, access permissions are automatically revoked, securing the building. Visitor passes can be issued using an email. Remotely via the mobile or web app straight to the users smartphone.
Visitors don’t need to download an app to access using virtual keys
Share app-less visitor passes. Visitors can access their virtual keys in their email. A link to a QR code scanner can then be used to scan the QR code on the door credential to enter a door securely.
Send up to 1000 digital visitor passes at one time
Up to 1000 emails can be sent visitor passes at one time. Perfect for large events, where large quantities of attendees require access for a specific time frame.
5. Interoperability
Integrates with access control systems off all ages
Sentry’s readerless mobile credentials can integrate with 20+ access control system brands, regardless of their age to provide NFC mobile access. NFC wallet app credentials require the latest reader hardware to be installed, meaning costly rip and replace can be required.
Integrates into 3rd party platforms via open SDK
The Sentry readerless credential open source SDK, powered by Doordeck, has the capability to integrate mobile access with PropTech technology, from unlocking doors to activating building iOT sensors. Our software is flexible to accommodate and unify a combination of technologies.
Unifies a combination of access control system brands under one centralized platform
A single Sentry readerless mobile credential can unlock multiple buildings with different systems, depending on access permissions. Building management can control access to a portfolio of buildings with disparate systems, just as easily as one.
