Interoperable Mobile Credentialing Software That Works Within Workplace Management Systems

In an enterprise workplace environment already juggling identity systems, HR platforms, risk management tools, and IT service systems, the last thing needed is yet another proprietary system that is managed separately from the others leading to inefficiencies in operational management and disruption to infrastructure. Yet this is exactly the trap many companies fall into when they look to modernize their buildings’ access control by transitioning to a proprietary mobile access solution that requires new hardware upgrades and the addition of another cloud management platform to grant permissions.

The appeal is clear, frictionless entry, smarter and more secure credentials, and a safer and seamless employee experience. But without the ability to integrate with other systems and leverage software interoperability, what could be an easy to manage connected eco-system, quickly turns into a tangled mess of disconnected data, duplicate workflows, and compliance headaches, on top of complex and time consuming new hardware installs.

The good news? It doesn’t have to be that way.

By choosing a mobile credentialing solution that is interoperable with your existing workplace management systems and physical access control system, you can unlock all the benefits of workplace operational efficiency, without disrupting your current infrastructure and becoming locked in to proprietary systems that can’t work together.

Integrated solutions like RightCrowd and Sentry Interactive are proving just how smooth and scalable this approach can be for large enterprises with large building and system portfolios across different verticals including healthcare, higher education, commercial real estate and others. The RightCrowd SmartAccess platform can pull together a combination of workplace management systems, physical access control systems, mobile credentialing software and more. Enabling customers with disparate systems to achieve a seamless and centralized management experience. Interoperable mobile credential solutions like Sentry Interactive’s readerless mobile access software integrated with RightCrowd SmartAccess means customers can transition to NFC or QR code mobile access without having to upgrade reader hardware, and all mobile credentials can be managed in the same system that is used to manage identity, HR, IT and more.

Make managing a portfolio of systems as easy as one

Introducing a new mobile access solution shouldn’t have to disrupt existing operations for large enterprises with a range of workplace management systems, from CRM, identity and IT to HR, risk, learning and induction management. Instead, forward-thinking organizations are looking for mobile access solutions that integrate seamlessly into what they already have, leveraging centralized platforms to create a connected, intelligent ecosystem.

RightCrowd’s physical identity and access management (PIAM) platform, RightCrowd SmartAccess combines all existing system management functions under the one easy-to-use platform, making management of building and workplace operations efficient and seamless. It enables mobile credential solutions, like those from Sentry Interactive, to communicate and work with existing workplace management systems such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Workday, SailPoint, Oracle, and ServiceNow. This means customers can automate access permissions based on real-time HR data, compliance status, safety and training requirements, or IT policies, without disruption to their existing infrastructure.

Key benefits:

  • Seamlessly sync user identities and roles across systems
  • Automatically issue or revoke mobile credentials based on HR or IT triggers
  • Centralize access policies and compliance tracking
  • Improve operational efficiency with fewer manual processes
  • Easily stay compliant, no matter how many employees or locations managed

The power of mobile access software interoperability doesn’t stop there

Beyond the ability to integrate with workplace management systems via companies like RightCrowd, Sentry Interactive’s readerless mobile credential software can also interoperate with a wide range of legacy physical access control systems (PACS), enabling a truly unified access experience. Utilizing secure cloud-based integration, Sentry Interactive offers a readerless approach to mobile access using NFC or QR code scan, allowing users to gain entry via their smartphones without the need to replace existing door readers or install new hardware. This means organizations can enable mobile credentials across their facilities while preserving their existing investment in physical access control system infrastructure. The result? A smooth transition to scalable mobile access, without the cost, complexity, or downtime of a full system replacement.

Conclusion

Ultimately, organizations benefit most and can gain operational efficiency when they can manage access, identity, compliance, and workplace operations through a single unified, interoperable ecosystem. Whether that’s enabling access based on job title, training completion, or real-time risk scores interoperability ensures it’s all connected. Mobile access is the future but only if it works in harmony with the systems businesses already use and trust.
