Learn more about our app-less visitor passes and how they provide a seamless digital visitor experience without them having to download extra mobile applications.

Do you want a modern, secure, and frictionless way to manage temporary access for tenants, visitors, contractors, or event attendees without requiring them to install an app?

With app-less digital visitor passes, visitors and contractors don’t need to install or use any dedicated application on their phone. Instead, they receive their mobile pass via email and can access doors by scanning a QR code on a smart access tile.

How app-less visitor passes work?

Here’s how our app-less visitor passes work, providing temporary mobile door access without the need for a user to download another mobile app.

  1. Host invites the visitor for a specific time-frame setting the start and end date and time.
  2. The visitor receives an email with a web link that takes them through to the web app that presents a QR code scanner – there’s no requirement to download an mobile app.
  3. The visitor can simply use the QR code scanner on the web app to scan the QR code on the smart access tile and unlock the doors they have been granted access to.
  4. Once the allotted time is up access permissions are revoked and the visitor can no longer access using their app-less visitor pass.

Benefits of app-less visitor passes

Let’s look at 6 benefits that app-less visitor passes deliver compared to the traditional physical visitor pass alternative:

  1. Improved Security

App-less visitor passes are time-limited and automatically expire at the end of the visit or event, eliminating the risk of lost credentials being misused later. This reduces a common security problem with printed badges or generic keycards.

  1. Faster, More Efficient Visitor Management

By automating the issuing and revocation of visitor credentials:

  • Reception or security teams save time because they no longer have to print, hand out, or collect physical badges.
  • Hosts can grant access remotely and at any time, without physically being at the building entrance.
  1. Better User Experience

Visitors enjoy a straightforward and efficient building access experience without them having to download another app or pick up physical credentials on-site. This improves the overall guest experience and reduces stress and confusion on arrival.

  1. Visibility and Auditability

Every digital visitor pass issued and every access event can be logged and audited. This gives security and facilities management teams greater visibility into who entered where and when, useful for compliance, reporting, and incident response.

  1. Seamless Integration with Existing Systems

App-less digital visitor passes work with the building’s existing pre-installed physical access control system infrastructure and can be issued remotely via the Sentry desktop or app management portal or via 3rd party building management platform that has completed the Sentry Interactive SDK integration. There’s no overhauling hardware or new reader installation required.

  1. Scalable for Events & Large Groups

The building’s mobile access admins can issue and pre-register hundreds or even thousands of digital visitor passes at once for events or large groups, all set with individual time restrictions and secure biometrically enabled credentials, making for easy and efficient check-in.

In Summary

Sentry Interactive’s app-less visitor passes streamline visitor check-in and temporary guest access. Enhancing security through automated time-limited mobile credentials, removes the need for physical badges or extra mobile apps, and helps facilities teams reduce administrative overhead while delivering a smooth, digital experience for guests.
